Horsley Choral Society is a friendly, mixed choir welcoming all voice parts and abilities. We rehearse weekly in term time in East Horsley and put on three public performances a year including taking part in the annual Leith Hill Music Festival where we were divisional winners in 2024!
Currently HCS numbers approximately sixty mixed voices, singing and performing a wide variety of choral and other music at twice yearly HCS concerts and also by invitation at various festivals and special events. HCS have toured in Europe, sung at Eton College and often sing with other choirs.
There is no audition to join- we only ask that you can hold a tune and can follow a musical score (you don't have to be an expert).. Rehearsals are weekly on Monday evenings from 8.00pm - 10pm with that all important break midway for a cup of tea and a chat.
Termly fees (£85 in 2023/4) are kept low and cover the cost of music hire and entry to competitions such as Leith Hill. We pride ourselves on our local roots and will always try and turn out for local events such as singing on the green at Christmas or at Horsley Live.
Our musical director is Val Beynon BEM.
